Eight Reasons For Gal Pals To Getaway And Explore Their Wild Feminine Side

Oma H. Barnett

In this stressful, hectic and busy world we live in, many women live life playing double duty shifts. They work a 40-60 hour week, come home and begin their second and third job, doing housework and taking care of the kids. Multi-tasking their poor overworked hearts and brains out. Women have many reasons to not take care of themselves.

But occasionally, everyone needs a time out, a space just for themselves, to put others needs, wants and desires aside, a time and space to getaway with the girls to talk, pamper, relax and unwind.

So now, girlfriend getaways and women’s retreats are booming because women have realized that it’s fun and a necessity to go solo with their friends every once in awhile.

The girlfriend getaway market represent a significant amount of money- four percent of all U.S. travel spending, which is almost $200 million a year. 24 percent of American women have taken a girlfriend getaway in the past three years, and 39 percent of American women plan on taking one in the next three years.

Here are eight good reasons for women to getaway with the girls…

1. Get back to nature and explore your wild side

2. Pampering quality time with the girls

3. Celebrate a birthday, special anniversary, upcoming nuptials (bachelorette party weekend) reunion or even a divorce

4. Time for a new adventure

5. Leave your worries (office woes, the men, babies and teenagers) behind

6. Expand your horizons

7. Cuppa hot chocolate and talk therapy

8. Hit the pillow and catch up on your zzzzz’s

And here are a few inns in northern California I recommend that are green friendly locations for Green Goddess girlfriend getaways… and you can even bring along a dog with you!
